On November 19, 2024, we had the honor of watching an extraordinary young man, Lukas Greco, appear on Breakfast Television, sharing his powerful story and using his platform to spread awareness about a life-altering experience. Lukas is not only a survivor of a hemorrhagic stroke caused by a ruptured arteriovenous malformation (AVM), but he is also an advocate, using his voice and his journey to educate and inspire others.

Lukas’s story is one of incredible resilience. A hemorrhagic stroke, like the one Lukas experienced, can have devastating effects, and the rupture of an AVM is often unpredictable and terrifying. For Lukas, it was a life-changing moment that tested his strength and determination. But through it all, he has emerged as a beacon of hope, showing the world just how strong and determined he is.

We are so proud of Lukas for taking his personal experience and turning it into something impactful. Along with his friends, Lukas is using his involvement in the school business program DECA as a platform to educate others about strokes and AVMs. Through DECA, they have the opportunity to reach a wide audience, spreading knowledge and awareness about an often-overlooked health issue.

DECA is known for its focus on business, leadership, and community service, and Lukas and his friends have used these principles to design a project that educates others about pediatric stroke and AVMs. It’s not just about the competition – it’s about making a difference in the lives of others.

Lukas’s dedication and leadership have not gone unnoticed. His appearance on Breakfast Television was a shining example of his courage and commitment to making a difference. He has already inspired so many people, and it’s clear that his impact will only continue to grow. Lukas, you are a true inspiration to everyone who meets you – and to those of us who are looking forward to meeting you in the near future.

Congratulations, Lukas, on everything you’ve accomplished so far. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for you. Your strength, perseverance, and determination will undoubtedly lead to even greater things in your life. Best of luck to you and your friends as you compete in the upcoming DECA competition. We are rooting for you all the way, and we know you’ll continue to inspire and educate others as you go. Keep up the incredible work – the world is waiting to see the great things you will do.
